Continuing to develop the fingerprinting technology on smartphones beyond the present biometric-capable home buttons, Fingerprint Cards and TPK is developing a method that incorporates a fingerprint sensor underneath the phone’s glass. This module will allow smartphone designers to create a more streamlined effect and opening up the ability to innovate the design of the home screen.

Capacitive recognition technology is the basis for this new model, and it promises safety, capacity to sense a fingerprint under relatively thick glass, and compatibility with sturdy, harder glass covers. Devices intended for public use carrying this new technology will reach markets by the end of this yea r.
