The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department had to close down one of their fingerprinting locations, leaving all the fingerprints to be taken at one location, with two to three hour wait times. Though the purpose of closing their location was to increase efficiency, residents of the area were outraged that they had to wait so long and even stand for hours before they could be fingerprinted.
People traveled to the LVMPD to get fingerprint scans for future employ or to obtain licenses, but they were met with extremely long wait times they never encountered when there were two fingerprinting locations. LVMPD encourages people to file reports at their local police departments to keep the fingerprint location less crowded during the transition.
